We Five: A Novel

An amalgamation of five novels woven together to tell the same continuous story, Mark Dunn’s stirring tale traces the escapades of five young women—who dub themselves “We Five”—and their suitors through a small mill town outside of Manchester, England in 1859; San Francisco on the eve of the 1906 earthquake & fire; Sinclair Lewis’s fictional Zenith, Winnemac in 1923; London during the Blitz of autumn, 1940; & in a small town in northern Mississippi in 1997. 

The women slowly become enraptured by their suitors, but little do they know the young men are playing an increasingly villainous & sinister game—the results of which hold deadly consequences & will set in motion an unlikely & devastating chain of events, the likes of which will change the lives of “We Five” forever.

Mark Dunn is the author of twenty published plays & a dozen works of fiction & non-fiction, most recently Texas People’s Court: The Fascinating World of the Texas Justice of the Peace published in 2022 by Texas A&M University Press & the play The Puzzle with the Piazza (Concord Theatricals) which he made available for royalty-free streaming productions for theaters during the pandemic.
